Writing in a journal has been a big part of my spiritual practice for most of my life. Although I didn't realize it was "spiritual" until I was an adult.. I write daily, every morning and more so during challenging times. It not only frees my mind but I feel it connects me to something wiser than myself. Does anyone else regularly write in a journal?
Happy Monday!

Good Morning KtMoolloy. I think journal writing just works for some people and not so much for others. I made my two god-daughters write in journals every day when they were young. Today as grown women they just roll their eyes at me and remember it as torture when I ask if they still write!😀. I love that you write songs! I write poetry when the mood strikes me but not that often anymore.
Happy Wednesday!

I find writing in a journal to be my time to stop to really think. So much going on in my daily life that it is easy to let things slip by. In Project You one of the first things John really spoke of was the importance of meditation, journaling and keeping with the practice of it becoming part of your daily routine. I am very good at psychic self defense and meditation. I do have to work harder at journaling.......That is the part of the daily that I truly have to work at more. Makes no sense.......I like to do it.......I get a lot out of it.......just makes no sense I have to work at that portion of a daily routine more.
I feel like when I sit and write I usually get that small thought that I know is the message I am to focus on. Practice.....practice.....practice
Hope all is well with everyone .........cold is finally starting to let up here. Have to say I am most ready.
Anyone working on any particular affirmation?

Yes! It does the same for me! I feel very connected when I write. For me the secret is a specific time of day. I do it first thing and will set an alarm if I know the morning will be rushed...today that meant 4:45. Is there a time of day the works for you? I know not everyone is a morning person.
Yes I have an affirmation that I have been focused on lately. " I'm am generous without expectation and with appropriate boundaries"
Happy Saturday and stay warm! It is even chilly in Florida!

I used to write in my teens, I then periodically wrote in it in my 20s then gave it in. I'm not sure why exactly, maybe I thought I'd outgrown it. I re-read it years later and had to laugh and cringe. I do think writing in a journal is a great way to relax and reflect. I now have a gratitude diary to write all my shifts in so I don't forget to show up for work but it's not the same thing. I make a point of thinking of something I'm greatful for each day and write it down. I think forcing kids to write in a diary has had the opposite affect maybe. I'm not sure if my diary was a gift or not, I don't remember how it came about but I wrote in it without encouragement. I received a diary years later, I don't know what it was if it was bad energy or something but I just didn't want to write in the new diary. I picked it up a number of times to write in it but it never felt right.
